Our Il Tyrol hotel San Candido is located in a central but quiet location in San Candido. Framed by idyllic gardens our house offers precious moments of relaxation. The pedestrian zone and cultural attractions like the Romanesque collegiate church with its museum await your visit. Throughout the whole year there are many leisure activities and sports opportunities on offer. The advantage of our hotel in San Candido: Start your walks and hikes directly from our front door. The cycle path is only 250m away, the cross country ski track 500m. The family adventure mountain Baranci and the railway station are a 5 minute walk and the ski bus to Monte Elmo leaves just outside the hotel.
Arrival by train:
South Tyrol can be reached using the Railways Deutsche Bahn, Schweizerische Bundesbahnen and Österreichische Bundesbahnen, together with the South Tyrolean and Italian railways.
Travel to Fortezza using international rail links. Then change to a local railway to San Candido.
From Klagenfurt travel to San Candido via Lienz.
Arrival by car:
- On the Brenner Motorway A22 (toll road) take exit Bressanone/Varna (Val Pusteria), then continue on the national road (SS49-E66). Distance from motorway exit Bressanone/Val Pusteria: approx. 60 km.

Arrival by plane:
The South Tyrolean airport is situated in the country’s capital of Bolzano. There are daily scheduled flights from and to Rome Fiumicino (IT). There are several daily shuttle buses to South Tyrol from the airports of Bolzano, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Munich, Treviso, Venice, Verona, Bergamo and Milan Malpensa. We are happy to provide you with all the information you need.
Direct transfer from Venice Airport - Dobbiaco / San Candido
During the winter season 2024/25 the 3 Peaks area in the Dolomites and Cortina Express will organise a direct transfer from Venice airport to Dobbiaco and San Candido.
The service will be provided in the period 30/11 - 21/04/2025 every Saturday and Sunday.
